The prostration of forgetfulness is the prostration that the worshiper performs before or after the salutation, if its cause occurs and his prayer is unintentionally disturbed by him, either because of an increase in it; As an increase in bowing, or prostration, or standing, or sitting, or because of a lack of prayer; As leaving one of its duties as the first witness, or because of doubt about it; Like doubt in the number of rak'ahs that he performed.Perfection is one of the attributes of God Almighty, which none of His creation shares with Him, and imperfection is in the nature of human beings. Islamic legislation came in accordance with the nature of people, recognizing their failure to realize perfection, including what Islam legislated regarding the prostration of forgetfulness to pray when a defect occurs in its performance; To compel the imbalance of the characteristic of its establishment, whether it is an increase, a deficiency, or a doubt, and this is an affirmation of the ease of worship in Islam, and that it is an obvious feature in its legislation, and it has been authenticated in the hadiths that the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - was silent in his prayers, and prostrated for that prostration. Forgetfulness, and in this regard the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, says: (I am only a human being who forgets as you forget, so if I forget, remember me, and if any one of you doubts about his prayer, let him investigate what is right, let him complete it, then prostrate two prostrations). He takes note of it, to achieve the safety of his prayers, and to obtain his reward for it, as he does not excuse a Muslim for his ignorance in matters of worship imposed in kind; So the question was about the prostration of forgetfulness in prayer.
