The increase in population and commercialization across the globe has resulted in millions of tons of waste generation daily and the mismanagement of it in handling has affected the Environment and many lives of people. The Waste Management has become a vital thing globally and is the need of hour to effectively implement it by every Citizen of the world. Different Countries across the world have adopted various means by which waste is being managed. However, one factor remains common for most of the Nations is to segregate the waste at source for its effective disposal down the line.Its been a challenge for many Urban Level Bodies (ULBs), Village Panchayats, Corporations, Housing Complexes etc. to monitor the door-to-door segregation of waste by every individual household, commercial establishments, Shops, Offices etc. This APP (Waste Wise) has been created with an intension to monitor door to door collection of any above-mentioned entities. The APP allows users particularly Urban Level Bodies, Village Panchayats and Corporations to record the participation level of every household, offices, commercial establishments etc In segregating their waste at source. The data generated by the APP post collection gives a clear understanding of whether the Household, Commercial Shops, Offices etc. are segregating their waste and handing it over to the Collection Agent. The APP also ensures that the Collection Agent reaches every household to provide Collection service. The ULBs, Village Panchayat and Corporations are at ease to take enforcement decisions on the defaulters based on the data generated by the APP. The ULBs can also focus on the Awareness and Outreach programmes in the areas where APP has recorded low segregation levels.
