Using Colebrook's equation to calculate pressure drop.
The result of the calculation was tested and compared with McQuay Ductsizer, ASHRAE Duct fitting database, and The Engineering ToolBox.
The app has given results that more accurate than McQuay DuctSizer and ASHRAE Duct fitting database as the snapshot shown. In the test:
- McQuay Ductsizer calculation method is based on the Duct Equivalent Diameter, not the real dimension of the duct. That cause smaller area, larger air velocity.
- ASHRAE Duct fitting database (ADFB) round-up the result to 0, which causes Friction loss is larger than the result of the others.
- HVAC Ductwork will give exactly the same result as ADFB if we round up the result as same as ADFB does.
