Tajweed (تجويد) literally means doing something elegant and beautiful or nice and smarten, recitation comes from the word "Jawwada" (جود-يجود-تجويدا) in Arabic. In the science qiraah, tajwid means getting letters from his place by giving its properties. So knowledge of recitation is a science which studies how melafazkan or pronounce the letters contained in the holy book the Koran and Hadith and others.Legal people who study Tajweed science is Fard Kifayah.
